Job Description
My client is a technology-leading manufacturer of specialised products Based in Oxfordshire, the site includes R&D, production test and applications laboratory facilities. They wish to recruit a Quality Test/Support Engineer focused on testing systems prior to shipment. Other testing services will be associated with product development or customer support/repair activities.
The company manufactures on a project basis and sells systems worldwide for installation by field service engineers. There is a wide range of products which are configurable to suit different applications. The job specification therefore covers a diverse range of tasks ranging from batched items, to testing of standard configurable products, through to be-spoke testing of specials.
An important part of the role is to ensure that products are tested with thought given to the life of the product once shipped, for example the integration with other manufacturers equipment, the installation, customer training and acceptance, warranty and future support of the product.
Experience with the following skills sets will be advantageous:
Testing/developing or supporting scientific equipment.
Vacuum technology.
SEM/TEM techniques.
Cryogenics and thermometry.
Optics including spectroscopy and light detectors.
Electronics, primarily analogue.
Ability to follow cabling diagrams/electronics circuits.
Mechanical assemblies and precision movement equipment.
